There is some unclarity surrounding the release date of this split CD, according to the webshop of SFH Records is was added in November 2012 but other media date it even earlier in 2012 so it has been available for some time now. The split CD shows three bands that have some cultstatus and with their raw, primitive and depressive they will not ever know how to enthuse a wider audience. Least of al Knochenfell because they give us their three last songs before they disbanded. And these songs are for purists only. It is raw, gritty, chilling to the bone with added a very poor production. Ordo Templi Orientis delivers three songs in the same vein and this goes for Kirchenbrand as well. These three bands are masters in creating a chilling atmosphere that is not healthy for the more unstable readers because the music might help them over the edge. And the bands would be able to explain that as a good thing. They all work together on two songs that do not add anything to the already bleak and dark music on display. This album is for those who want to get acquainted with black metal in its purest form but beware: it will definitely bring you a few steps closer to the devil.

This split kicks off with four songs from Ordo Templi Orientis. These fellows seem to play melodic black but due to the very inaudible sound that is hard to tell. The more audible parts are more decent except for the second song. I suspect they hired Dani Filth for the vocals, the whining and screaming is terrible. The sound is in the quality range of a rehearsal room, the idea is nice but the execution a bit disappointing. On to the second band, Knochenfell performs raw black with a solid thrash influence. The production is much better with this one and the music is performed very well. The pace is not very high but they have a unique style which is pleasant to listen to and they managed to put a lot of variation in a short playing time. Not a high flyer, but it rises above the crowd. Kirchenbrand ends the record though this doesnt mean much since the bands have had help from each other on several other songs in this split. I do not know what kind of effect pedal the guitarist used, but the happy sounding thrashy style is ruining my hearing, that goes for the bucket they used for drums too. De second song fares a bit better, though it doesnt get very exciting. The second last song is ruined by excessive use of a drum computer. And the final song is one I doubt they performed it themselves since the performance on the violin is much better than the guitar performance on the record.
